Q Our newest contributing editor Anthony Fletcher is a freelance journalist who lives in Belgium with his wife and two children. When not writing about the food industry, Fletcher, originally from Scotland, enjoys playing guitar and discovering new types of Belgian beer. 39 Q Senior Editor James Wright joined the SeaFood Business staff in 2005. He writes the monthly NetWorking interview on the back page and contributes to the Going Green section when he's not writing Top Story. Jamie lives in Maine and during his August vacation he and his wife Meaghan hiked the Bold Coast trail east of the tiny lobster town of Cutler, near the Canadian border. "You can't get any more Downeast than that," he says. This month's cover feature explores the possibilities and pitfalls of targeting emerging markets like the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) bloc that's seeking greater influence over global financial matters. Their increased purchasing power and growing middle class populations make them attractive seafood export markets. "Having spoken with several seafood exporters, both in the United States and abroad, I gained a greater appreciation for the risks they take in exploring new trade channels," Wright says. "Even though seafood has long been a well-travelled commodity, the path from here to there is rarely without obstacles." Q Lisa Duchene, contributing ediitor and co-author of our monthly Going Green feature, writes about eco-business, nature education for youth and her own adventures in nature from her home in Bellefonte, Pa. She was senior editor of SeaFood Business from 2000 to 2005, and wrote a feature on sustainability that was recognized by American Business Media.
