This session will provide you with the programs that are available for your customers to enjoy seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. Retailers to restaurant chains will learn how to incorporate Gulf Coast seafood in their seafood counters and on their menus. The panel will discuss each of the states��� endeavors. The state directors will also discuss successful public relations, social media and gorilla marketing techniques. MONDAY, March 11 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Killer Demos and Successful Merchandising Join Warren Thayer, editor of Frozen Dairy Buyer magazine and celebrity and research Chef Rick Tarantino as they present annual industry statistics and data on current trends and projections. You will learn about programs that have been sucessful over the past year and those that were not. New product launches and new merchandising will be looked at. Attend and participate by sharing your ideas and succes stories on how you sell seafood using in-store demonstration and merchandising programs. Copies of the data via a PowerPoint presentation merchandising will be distributed. 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Catalyzing Industry to Rebuild Fisheries: Fostering MultiStakeholder Collaborations via the Clinton Global Initiative In 2011, Darden Restaurants made a commitment, through the Clinton 82 SeaFood Business March 2013 Global Initiative (CGI), to rebuild troubled ���sheries by developing and launching three ���shery improvement projects (FIPs) in three years. This ambitious commitment is supported by a cooperative alliance with other companies, such as Publix Supermarkets, and Darden���s partner NGOs. Multi-stakeholder FIPs are increasingly utilized by industry and NGOs to demonstrate commitment to sustainability and to improve ���sheries. But what impact is being made? How can stakeholders be assured that their commitment to the FIP is making a difference? Food producers will face the challenge of keeping up with stronger demand, while facing higher costs of energy, labor and other inputs. This new situation is here to stay for the years to come. In particular, the animal protein sector will see pressure on pro���t margins, their ability to control their production costs and face resistance of consumers to price increases. Food markets are readjusting to a new situation, and price volatility will be one of the main characteristics of the future. It will make forecasting dif���cult and stressful at times.
