Trade Tracker Salmon is king U.S. exports of sockeye, pink salmon and salmon roe peak in July I n the U.S. sea- food salmon. From mid- May through August, the Alaska and West industry, summer means marking a 38 percent decline, year-to-year. Te top market for U.S. sockeye salmon is Canada, which takes in about 29 percent of U.S. sockeye exports, followed closely by Ja- pan at 22 percent. July is the peak month for U.S. sock- eye salmon exports. Last year, the value of sockeye exports went from $3.9 million in June to more than $82 million in July.
